How to travel to Vondelpark Openluchttheater in Amsterdam

The start and finish of the Rainbow Ride🌈 is at Vondelpark Openluchttheater in Amsterdam. The central location of Vondelpark is ideal for traveling by public transport. Vondelpark is easy accessible via several stations (e.g. Amsterdam Centraal and Amsterdam Zuid). There are also various parking facilities, but unfortunately no free parking. However, free parking is possible within a few minutes by bike.

Public transport (paid)

Vondelpark Openluchttheater is centrally located in Amsterdam and is easily accessible by public transport. Near Vondelpark Openluchttheater you can travel by tram:

  • Stop north side (Overtoom) tram lines 1 and 11: get off at Constantijn Huygensstraat / Overtoom
  • Stop east side (van Baerlestraat) tram lines 2, 3, 5, 12: get off at Van Baerlestraat.
  • Stop south side (entrance Van Eeghenstraat) tram line 2; get off at Cornenlis Schuytstraat.

If public transport is not suitable for you, you can be dropped off or you can park your car. We recommend carpooling as much as possible.

  • Vondelstraat or Van Eeghenstraat; for visitors who stay a short while or who have difficulty walking.

Schinkel neighbourhood in Amsterdam (free parking on Saturdays)

  • In Schinkel it is possible to park for free in the following streets: Anthony Fokkerweg, Luchtvaartstraat, Pilotenstraat, Vliegtuigstraat, Valschermkade, Helicopterstraat, Generaal Vetterstraat and Propellerstraat.
  • Approx. 10 minute cycling to Vondelpark Openluchttheater

 

 

Riekerweg next to the allotments (free parking)

  • There is a parking lot next to Schinkel where you can park for free.
  • Approx. 12 minute cycling to Vondelpark Openluchttheater

 

 

P+R options – parking + public transport (paid)

You can park relatively cheap at a P+R location near the city. Then you must travel by public transport from there, to take advantage of the discount rates. If you cycle from this P+R location, you pay the regular parking rate.
